This year will be held the 18th edition of the National Peter and Paul Festival of Folklore. The event will take place on 21 and 22 June 2025. The official opening of the fair is on June 21, 2025 at 11:00 am. Traditionally, the festival begins with the song ‘Horo winds himself near the monastery’, bearing his name and becoming his motto.

The National Festival of Folklore of Petropavlovsk takes place on the meadows above the Monastery of St. ST. Peter and Paul’, which is located above the town of Lyaskovets. The forum is organized by the municipalities of Veliko Tarnovo, Gorna Oryahovitsa and Lyaskovets and takes place under the patronage of their mayors. The household is on a rotating basis and this year the honor to host is the Municipality of Lyaskovets. The organization and funding are on the principle of equality between the three municipalities. The fair is a forum for expression of all folklore forms – singing, instrumental, verbal, dance – processed and authentic, performed by collective and individual participants. One of its goals is to strengthen the role of the Orthodox Bulgarian Church in preserving the traditions and Bulgarian identity and for this it is held on the eve of St. Peter’s Day – the temple holiday of the Lyaskovo Monastery. The Petropavlovsky Council distinguishes laureates in each of the nine different genres. A professional jury determines the laureates and according to the genre diversity, established professionals are included in the composition of the creative committee. The prizes of the laureates are cash prizes, diploma and plaque. Special prizes are also awarded to the mayors of the three municipalities – a cash prize, a plaque and a diploma, and each participating team receives a thank-you certificate for participation and a souvenir with the logo of the fair.………………………………
